An Exploratory
Bible Study

Monday Nights @7PM

“The cross is the pulpit from which Christ preached His love to the world.” – Augustine

Have you never been to church but interested in checking it out? Has the Bible been a hard-to-understand book for you? Do you think it would be good to study with a warm group of friends?

A new Bible Study is starting up with these questions in mind. We are a group from Covenant Presbyterian church in Hammond WI, and we aim to be “informed and re-formed by God’s Word: The Bible.”

Calvary’s Cross is a group in the reformed heritage and legacy. A rich legacy at that. Don’t let that scare you. We are friendly, warm, and loving. God is nearby and He provides true freedom. We are currently meeting in the Grantsburg, WI area.

Calvary’s Cross is…

God-Centered

You are made for God. You are made to glorify or honor God and enjoy Him. Calvary’s Cross is a place that focuses on how we have failed to honor God, on how that great problem can be solved, and how you can again live with the goal of adoring and honoring Him. To live for anything less than God is to defeat the Creator’s design and to miss out on our greatest happiness.

Bible-Based

God knows what is best for us. We aim to be a place that is both formed and informed by His word, The Bible. The Lord has left you with His message and Calvary’s Cross seeks to focus on what God has to say.

People-Focused

You have a home here. A place where you will be loved, appreciated, and warmly received. God’s incredible news will be shared and proclaimed to you.

What We Emphasize

  • Grace (God’s unmerited and undeserved favor and love)
  • The Bible as God’s guide to the way to God’s forgiveness and guide to living
  • Christ as the only deliverer from the problem of sin. Jesus is both God and man.
  • Loving and respecting people as image bearers of God (treating all others with respect and dignity)
  • We are a confessional church with a heritage. Our standards are the Westminster Standards which are a nearly 500-year-old summary of truths. We also love ecumenical creeds as an expression of our faith.
  • God-centered worship because the Lord is so great and worthy to be praised
  • Rich, full teaching that has substance for our daily lives and our eternal destinies
  • That the Lord usually uses the basics to grow us – the Bible, the Lord’s Table and Baptism, prayer, and fellowship (time and interaction with others in the church).
